The Border PriceSeptember 10, 2026Global chip sales rose 135 percent in a year, which is a price rather than a volume. The American statistics show where that price is being paid: imported semiconductors and components cost a third more than a year ago, while the same classification leaving the United States costs less than it did.
The Empty SeatSeptember 3, 2026A ten percent rise in truckload prices is being read as the freight cycle finally turning. The tonnage says nothing more is moving than a year ago, and rail carried its extra freight at an unchanged price. What repriced was trucking, not freight, and the difference decides how long it lasts.
